Pinks and Blues Icon Collage on Paper
Taking inspiration from Renaissance icons, and using the central stamp as a focal point, I layered fabrics, ephemera and block-printed Indian papers to create a rich and warm mixed media piece. There’s plenty of stitch in this piece, echoing the clean-cut lines of the various papers and ribbons. I love to ‘work’ papers before use, so you’ll spot watercolour blotches on text alongside smears of acrylic colour and ink blots on vintage maps.
30 × 40 cm, mounted in a 54 × 44 cm simple white frame, 3 cm thick. If you would prefer this piece mounted by unframed, please contact me. This will effect postage costs due to weight.
